She was also a talented crochet artist and loved creating pop culture pieces – even going viral on TikTok for creating a crochet Lil Nas X. After her stage IV colon cancer diagnosis, she discovered a great and welcoming community of other cancer fighters and survivors on TikTok. Molly found comfort in sharing her journey and making videos and connecting with people there. In 2019, Molly focused on training for and completing the Chicago Marathon, which she crushed. Molly had an incredible (dark) sense of humor, which served her well after she was diagnosed. She named her colostomy bag David because, well “Eww, David!” No matter what she did during her 10+ years in Chicago, Molly made special friendships to last a lifetime. She will always be remembered for her breathtaking voice, infectious laugh, and kind heart. Molly was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and graduated from Green Bay Preble High School in 2006. She then attended UW-Green Bay, where she played Sally Bowles and sang with the Daddy D entertainment troupe, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in musical theater in 2012 and a minor in human development. Molly moved to Chicago in 2013 to continue pursuing opportunities in theater. In a 2017 BoradwayWorld.com interview, Molly was asked to describe the Chicago theater community in 3 words. Sexy.” Molly is survived by her parents, Cathy and Jeff LeCaptain; sister and brother-in-law, Megan and Justin Sills; niece and nephew, Winnie and Harrison Sills; aunts and uncles, Denise LeCaptain, Amy & Steve Reynolds, Tom & Lynn Rebitski, and Paul Rebitski; cousins, Jill Rebitski Hoelscher, Heidi & Mike Baenen, Justin and Jay Rebitski, Alaina Reynolds, Nicole Rebitski, and Ashton Rebitski; and her beloved companions, Murphy and Doug Judy.
