Judy Fabjance taught improvisation for The Second City since 1999. In addition- she taught dozens of improv workshops for Emerald City Theatre Company, Chicago Comedy Company, CIF, Camp Keshet, High Schools, Junior Highs, After School Programs, Day Camps, Family Nights and Corporate groups. She is a graduate of Second City’s Training Center’s Conservatory, Comedy Writing and Acting Programs and IO. She studied at The Annoyance Theater and Columbia College. Some groups Judy performed with include: GayCo Productions (co-founding member: a pioneering, 20-year-old offshoot of Second City with an LGBTQ perspective), Second City Theatricals (Weddings of Mass Destruction), ComedySportz Family Matinee Series (The Paper Spaceship), Single Box Turn Productions (Understudy Band Geeks and drummer in old time band for Little House on the Parody) and Sulacco Productions (Shadow of the Master; A Kung-Fu Musical). GayCo called her “a comedian, a teacher, a trailblazer, a friend, a co-star, an actor, a teammate, a co-worker, a writer, a coach, a mentor, a brilliant wit, a tireless champion of others, a role model, a daughter, a sister, a loving wife (to GayCo’s equally incredible Kelly Beeman) and, perhaps most inspiringly, an endlessly devoted mother to her amazing daughter Daphne.” In addition to her wife and daughter, Ms. Fabjance is survived by her mother, Stephanie Fabjance, her father, John Fabjance, a sister, Cathi, and brothers Gary and Tom.
