Dan Foss
January 4, 1970 - November 7, 2017
Dan Foss was originally from Sandwich, Illinois. He found his love of theater early on in life and became a very accomplished actor and stage director. Dan was many things to many people- but his love of family, friends, and theater are what drove him to be the best he could be, no matter what roadblocks life threw at him. Diabetes was the final roadblock that eventually took him from us- however he seldom complained, never losing his passion for theater and life. He loved his kitties, Christmas shopping, up-keeping his fantastic Twitter page, and delighted in film & TV. Some directing credits include: Susan Swayne and the Bewildered Bride (Babes with Blades), Erratica (The Second Stage), Vanishing Points (BoHo Theatre), Steel Magnolias (Ignite Theatre), Godspell (Saint Sebastian Players), Zombie Bathhouse: a rock musical (Center on Halsted). His production of Quality Street at Rogue Theater made Gay Chicago Magazine's list of The Best of Stage 2005. He served as Managing Director of Rogue Theater and Point of Contention Theatre Company and as Artistic Director of Rascal Children's Theater. Other directing credits include projects with Rogue Theater, Bailiwick Repertory, The Side Project, Polarity Ensemble Theatre, Hobo Junction, Appetite Theatre, American Demigods, and Point of Contention. Dan was preceded in death by his biological father, Dennis Foss, maternal grandparents, Bonnie (Foster), Walter Till Johnson and Gerald Thompson. paternal grandfather, Lloyd Foss and his two favorite feline "kids", Holler and the gas passing, Tootie. He is survived by his parents, Donna (Thompson) and Jeff Cook, loving brother, Chris (Heather) Foss, grandparents, Janice Thompson and Wilma (Russ) Miller and so many wonderful friends and relatives that it would take too many pages to list them all. |
