Jason Chin

1968 – January 8, 2015

Chin was the iO Associate Artistic Director, as well as the Director of the Training Center for eight years. He coached the Harold team “Deep Schwa” for 13 years and was a regular cast member of the “Armando Diaz Experience.” He created and directed several classic long form shows such as “Dinner for Six” and “Whirled News Tonight,” which is currently celebrating its tenth year of continuous performance. He taught and directed improv in the Philippines, Australia, England and Gainesville, FL. He is the author of the book Long-Form Improvisation & The Art Of Zen: A Manual For Advanced Performers (2009). From 2009 to 2011, he wrote "An Improvised Blog" for ChicagoNow, a Tribune property. More recently he wrote the blog JasonChinFTW. Jason is survived by his mother Rose Marie Chin, father John Chin, brother Jonathan and sister Jennifer.
